Recently I accompanied William of Year 8 to the awards ceremony for the Australian Mathematics Competition. William received a Prudence Award which is presented to the student in each school who scores the most consecutive correct answers within the exam. This is a fantastic achievement for William in a school with so many capable mathematicians.

The State Final of the Premier's Debating Challenge for Years 9 and 10 was another great day when Anton, Luke, Paddy and Damon represented the school with distinction finishing as runners up in this state-wide competition. Debating against Manly Selective High, it was a very close debate on the outlawing of bikie gangs. Our debating program has had another great year thanks to the ongoing work of Mrs Dixon and many members of our English and History Faculties.
