This semester our Year 11 Software Design students are studying Computer Science at UNSW. Each year a limited number of selected talented students are offered the opportunity to enrol as a UNSW student, whilst still at school, and study COMP1511, the popular first-year computer science course at the University of NSW. Caringbah High students raise over $20,000 in the World's Greatest Shave! On Tuesday 20 March, Caringbah High students participated in the Leukaemia Foundation's iconic World's Greatest Shave campaign, which is celebrating its 20th birthday. Our students joined more than 1.9 million extraordinary Aussies who have helped beat blood cancer by getting sponsored to shave, colour, wax, cut pony tails, banish beards and trim top knots. Year 11 Biology excursion cancelled

Unfortunately due to unfavourable weather conditions, the Biology Excursion to Jibbon Beach tomorrow (the 26th of February), has been cancelled. After consultation with National Parks, it was decided that the rain, wind and large swells may pose a danger to students working on the rock platform. We are hopeful to re-book the excursion in the near future. All students are therefore expected to attend all classes as normal, in full school uniform.... Read more

YEAR 12 PHOTO will take place on Monday 19th February. Provision will be made for you to change from 8:30am in the school hall / gym. The photo will take place at 8:50am sharp. 2018 Resource Allocation Model funding

In October 2017, all NSW public schools will receive a 2018 Planned School Budget Allocation Report. The report will assist with the management of the total budget delivered to schools through the Resource Allocation Model (RAM). The Resource Allocation Model (RAM) methodology distributes funding based on the individual needs of students and schools. This gives schools greater flexibility to make local decisions. NDIS continues its roll out across NSW

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) started in NSW in July 2016, rolling out across half of the state. The rollout for the rest of NSW started on 1 July 2017 and the NDIS will be fully rolled out by mid 2018. The NSW government is writing to the families of children and young people with disability who currently receive disability supports in the rollout areas to advise how and when they will enter the NDIS. Students at the Elevate Young Leaders' Forum


Over two school days, Year 11 SRC members Abie, Rhys, Indiana and Sophie were given the opportunity to attend the Elevate Young Leaders' Forum at the University of Wollongong. The event allowed the students an incredible and unique chance to meet hundreds of fellow leaders from across the state. NAPLAN Online School readiness test

NSW schools will participate in the NAPLAN Online School Readiness Test from 14 August to 22 September. There is a lot of information for schools, students and parents on the NAPLAN Online transition website. The school readiness test is a ‘practice run' for schools to assess their technology as we prepare to transition to NAPLAN Online. Worlds Greatest Shave - Amazing school video

Twenty one amazing students and two crazy teachers participated in the amazing Worlds Greatest Shave at Caringbah on Friday 17th March. With four Yr 12 girls Nicole, Chloe, Erica and Cindy having shaved their heads live on the Channel 7 Morning show on Thursday, Friday was always going to be epic. With the school director Mr Mark Barraket agreeing to be a "victim" the clippers buzzed to life and the hair was flying. The high school section has information that relates to organisation, school life balance and how to support your child in a range of subjects. Congratulations go to our Engineering students Anton, Billy, Zac, Thomas, and Aaron for winning the following awards in the National Titles for the F1 in Schools awards. Innovation Award, Fastest Car in the pressure challenge and Outstanding Industry Collaboration Our students were required to develop a 3D CAD design car; a marketing campaign and design folio; develop connections and collaboration with local industry. Our Engineering students compete at the F1 in Schools National Championships in Adelaide over four days. Day 1: Following an early morning flight, Nangamay arrived in Adelaide for the F1 in Schools National Finals. Day 1 composed of two short practice sessions, along with checking into accommodation at Adelaide Shores. The introduction of the revised Healthy School Canteen Strategy increases the availability of healthy food and drink options in school canteens to make the healthy choice, the easy choice. It replaces the Fresh Tastes@School Strategy in NSW schools that was commonly known as the traffic light system. The revised strategy is consistent with the 2013 Australian Dietary Guidelines and classifies food and drinks as either Everyday or Occasional. Sugary drinks will continue not to be sold. UOW Engineering Competition Winners

Congratulations to our Engineering Studies students who have won major prizes in the state wide University of Wollongong STEM competition in Engineering. Students were required to submit a Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) project. These submissions came from schools all over the state.
